Senior Sophie Pilkinton received the Nashville Sports Council Female Athlete Award. Each year the Nashville Sports Council hosts the Pepsi Celebration of Champions, which recognizes the most accomplished amateur and professional athletes in the Nashville area. Sophie was honored for her achievements in swimming and track & field.
During the 2013-2014 school year, Sophie was a vital member Harpeth Hall State Championships in soccer, swimming & diving, and track & field. The Bears went on to win a second consecutive State Championship in swimming & diving in 2015.
At the 2014 TSSAA State Track & Field Championship Meet, Sophie was the State Champion in the 800 Meter Run for the third consecutive year. She also helped lead the Bears to state titles in the 4X400 Meter Relay and the 4X800 Meter Relay.
In the pool, Sophie was the state runner-up in the 200 individual medley and the 100 yard freestyle and was also a member of the State Runner-Up 400 yard freestyle relay in 2014. Her performance in the 200 individual medley earned her All American honors.
At the 2015 Swimming & Diving State Meet, Sophie was crowned State Champion in the 200 individual medley and finished in 3rd place in the 100 yard butterfly. For the second year in a row she was named All American in the 200 IM. She was also a member of the State Runner-Up 400 yard freestyle relay and the State Champion 200 yard freestyle relay, both of which earned All American honors.
Sophie will continue her swimming career at Yale University.
